October’s spotlight is taking us to Holmfirth, Yorkshire where we will be diving into the rich history of Dunsley Heat. From humble beginnings as a family-run business developing solid fuel open fire central heating boilers in 1950, Dunsley Heat has undergone a lot of changes over the past seventy years.

The Dunsley Heat of the twenty-first century echoes the company’s past; the Broadbent family – descendants of James and Ernest Broadbent, company founders – are still at the head of the company and oversee the business. The company’s values from the early days have remained the same, with continuous development using new, innovative technologies being built into every appliance. Keeping homes warm and utilising the latest technology to maximise efficiency is at the core of every Dunsley Heat stove, and Cleaner Choice certified Dunsley Heat stoves are independently certified to produce at least 50% less emissions than current legal requirements in smoke control areas.

Holmfirth, Yorkshire has been at the heart of Dunsley Heat since its inception over seventy years ago. To this day, all Dunsley Heat products are designed and manufactured in the Holmfirth factory, ensuring the highest degree of quality control. By keeping the entire design process – from planning to production – in the UK, Dunsley Heat’s high standards are maintained and the sustainability of the supply chain is ensured.

Everyone at Dunsley Heat is proud of the company’s heritage. As one of the UK’s longest-standing manufacturers of multifuel heating equipment, Dunsley Heat’s experience and expertise is displayed throughout their appliances. Incredible efficiency, easy operation, and minimised emissions are present throughout all Dunsley Heat Cleaner Choice certified appliances, utilising the most from your fuel to keep your home warm and cosy.

Avance

The Avance range of stoves combine traditional features with sleek, timeless styling to create a silhouette suitable for any home. When the Avance 500 was first conceptualised, the technical team at Dunsley Heat wanted to work from the ground up, creating an efficient stove perfect for contemporary living.

What resulted from their research and development was a distinctly British stove, constructed from cast iron and high-quality steel – perfect for keeping you warm on those cold winter nights, whilst the large window allows for an unobstructed view of the dancing flames. High controllability combined with straightforward instructions means your Avance appliance can keep you exactly the right temperature, putting you in control of how you burn with a Dunsley Heat appliance.

The Avance 400 and Avance 500 are both Cleaner Choice certified, providing you with the assurance that your appliance will burn efficiently and safely whilst minimising particulate emissions. The Avance range also grant you more flexibility, with an optional solid fuel kit available, letting you burn a wider range of fuels in your stove.

Highlander range

The Highlander 3 and Highlander 5 both offer highly efficient burns with minimal emissions, wrapped up in a traditional British stove design. The timeless aesthetic and different size options – a 5kW, standard-sized model, or a 3kW, slim and compact model – mean that a Dunsley Heat Highlander appliance can fit in any home.

The Highlander 3 is part of the new Square Glass range of multifuel stoves offered by Dunsley Heat, offering the choice of a subtly transformative new take on the Highlander model. Despite its compact size, which is perfect for fitting into cosy cottages and smaller inglenooks, the Highlander 3 can burn logs up to 200mm long.

Dunsley Heat offer customisation options for their stoves, with six stove point colour options to choose from. The six options complement the timeless, traditional styling of Dunsley Heat stoves and mean that your appliance not only will be the heart of your home, it will also be uniquely striking.

Charcoal and light charcoal offer a lighter touch to the stove, bringing a quiet glimmer of contemporary design whilst holding onto the time-honoured look that a Dunsley Heat stove offers. Mojave red, forest green, and honey-glo brown will be sure to draw guests’ attention directly to your stove, with their eyes scanning over the large, clear viewing window as they delight in the warming flame. Whether you want your stove to make a bold statement, match with your decor, or stay traditionally stylish, Dunsley Heat can provide you with what you need.

Using a Cleaner Choice certified appliance from Dunsley Heat is a surefire way to be confident your home will not only stay warm with less fuel, but your appliance will be producing minimal emissions. The high efficiency and easily comprehensible operating instructions combined with the incredible performance of Dunsley Heat stoves mean your home can remain warm whilst your emissions stay low.
