For June’s spotlight we’ll be taking a look at the rich history of AGA and exploring their exceptional range of stoves. For more than a century the AGA name has been synonymous with quality and innovation, but over the past forty years there has been a new, much-loved addition to homes – AGA stoves.

Every AGA stove is manufactured in the UK, with each one crafted to the highest standards that customers expect from AGA whilst maintaining beauty and efficiency.

The AGA story began back in 1922 when blind Nobel Prize-winning Swedish physicist Gustaf Dalén invented the cooker that would take the world by storm. Although AGA cookers were sold in Britain for a number of years, it wasn’t until 1947 that production would begin in Ketley, Shropshire, where they are still made today.

The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into every AGA cooker is mirrored in the brand’s range of stoves. The team is passionate about every product that carries the AGA logo, ensuring that each product is made to the very highest standards. Each AGA stove is assembled by hand and quality-checked every step of the way, providing a personal touch that means every AGA stove feels just that little bit more unique.

AGA have always understood the importance of the environment and strived to reduce their emissions. Carl Moon, AGA Stoves National Sales Manager said:

Our drive is to protect the environment and continue to reduce emissions, surpassing even HETAS Cleaner Choice requirements. Minimised emissions and high efficiencies are always at the top of our agenda when it comes to stoves.

All multifuel stoves in the AGA range carry Cleaner Choice certification and Defra exemption, making them fully approved for solid fuel or wood burning in smoke control areas and independently verified to produce at least 50% emissions that current UK requirements. AGA’s collection of stoves seamlessly blend contemporary and traditional styling, offering a range of appliances fit for any home.

The AGA Ellesmere comes in three sizes, making it suited for any size home. The compact version is just 38 cm wide and 52.5 cm deep but still has a heat output of up to 4.6 kW, making it perfect for smaller, more snug spaces. The standard Ellesmere is slightly larger and suited for the majority of homes, measuring slightly larger at 43.8 cm wide and 53.5 cm deep whilst maintaining a heat output of up to 4.9 kW. If you have a larger space to heat or the room for a larger stove, the wide version has you covered. With a width of 57.5 cm and a heat output of up to 5 kW, the AGA Ellesmere Wide makes a statement and looks great in any setting.

Further, every stove in the Ellesmere collection is constructed with a steel body and cast iron doors, providing that reassuring clunk when you close the door as visual evidence of their quality, handmade design. With one simple-to-use control for both primary and secondary air plus high efficiencies, the Ellesmere collection provides easy operation and low emissions whilst keeping you warm.

The Ludlow range is comprised of two appliances, both of which are Cleaner Choice certified. Available in two sizes – standard and wide – the Ludlow range has a stove to fit your fireplace recess, whatever the size. Stoves in the Ludlow range offer a magnificent flame and are beautifully designed to form the focal point in any room. An understated style and exquisite detailing make a Ludlow stove a great addition to the home.

The Little Wenlock has been a staple of AGA stoves and a bestseller for more than forty years, thanks to its traditional styling and high efficiency. The latest Wenlock stove is designed for longevity, achieving a 4.5 kW output and Cleaner Choice certification. Boasting high efficiency and minimised particulate matter emissions, the Little Wenlock combines style and functionality, making it the perfect fit for your home.

Carl Moon commented:

Stoves remain a popular choice with homeowners. Not only do they look great, but you can also get great performance and heat into the room by choosing a product where efficiency is key. Our stoves are easy to install and easy to use. They’re popular in properties that have a fireplace recess as they create a stylish focal point in a room. Plus, who doesn’t love the relaxing experience of gazing into a real fire.
