As a non-profit organisation, we pride ourselves on investing surplus funds into business areas that directly contribute to safely reducing particulate and carbon emissions for the benefit of the people and the environment.
HETAS operates a number of schemes, including our UKAS accredited competent person scheme for installers of wood and biomass appliances, a Cleaner Choice product certification scheme, retailer, chimney sweep and maintenance schemes.
HETAS also administers the Defra exemption list for appliances and authorisation for fuels as well as administering the Ready to Burn certification scheme for manufactured solid fuels.
