CPD Sessions and Workshops offered by HETAS
HETAS has been providing industry-leading training for installers of solid fuel and biomass appliances for decades with our DLUHC approved competent persons scheme in place since 2002. With the recent introduction of the Environment Improvement Plan 2023, the government has confirmed there are not plans to ban domestic burning.
The agenda of CPD sessions and workshops can be tailor-made to the requirements of your Local Authority. These interactive meetings keep staff up to date with changing legislation from an industry-leading training provider.
Workshops can cover legislative requirements of Clean Air Act 1993 and Smoke Control areas, The Air Quality (Domestic Solid Fuels Standards) (England) Regulations 2020, methods of reducing smoke and particulate pollution from stoves, Approved Document J, how to identify Defra exempt and non-exempt appliances along with other schemes such as HETAS Cleaner Choice. These are just a few examples of what can be covered in the sessions we offer.
HETAS are well placed within the industry to offer expertise and administer on behalf of Defra the Ready to Burn scheme for manufactured solid fuels. Woodsure has been appointed to run the Ready to Burn certification scheme for wood. These schemes underpin the legislation for fuels in England from May 2021.
We are committed to offering flexible solutions to meet different needs, so these workshops can be delivered on-site, via video platforms and we have an online learning platform available for bespoke training too.
Testimonials
Testimonials from previous CPD Sessions and Workshops led by HETAS:
Excellent presentation from HETAS. Great opportunity for CPD, working jointly with Building Control Officers and Environmental Health Officers. The technical detail of the presentation was very interesting & pictures of bad practice were excellent to learn from and discuss further. Lots of opportunity throughout for interaction with the audience for Q&A’s. HETAS were very knowledgeable and would recommend to anyone who is thinking about booking a training session. The 2 hours flew by – we could have easily continued to talk to HETAS on this subject all afternoon!
Lisa Bainbridge, Environmental Health Officer
Thank you so very much for a brilliant presentation today. Unfortunately I had to do other work at the beginning and the last 20 minutes, but I gained a great deal today.
