For July, we’ll be travelling to South Wales and finding out how world-renowned Welsh steel is utilised to create a warm, efficient Ironwood stove for your home.

Ironwood Stoves was born when Topstak were looking to expand their reach and make an efficient, high-quality line of wood-burning stoves.

Understanding the industry and the passion of those that work in it – from installers and sweeps to manufacturers – drove the team to find out what mattered to stakeholders, prioritising their interests as much as consumers. This extensive and comprehensive approach to research and development created the Ironwood Stoves of today

Staunchly Welsh and environmentally committed, Ironwood Stoves boast an impressive collection of appliances, with the Ironwood Monnow and Ironwood Thaw Wide demonstrating the company’s capability to design and produce a high-quality, efficient wood burner. By keeping the process of material sourcing, manufacturing, and assembly close to home, not only are Ironwood showing their commitment to their Welsh roots and contributing to local economies, but they are also minimising their environmental impact.

Contained entirely within the Welsh border, an Ironwood stove’s journey from source to creation stays local. A short trip along the Welsh coast encompasses the entire design and manufacturing process of an Ironwood stove.

The high-quality Welsh steel is sourced from the famous Tata Steel in Port Talbot, where it travels less than fifteen miles to Bridgend to be manufactured for use. The short trip ends just fifty miles later at the Topstak headquarters in Cowbridge where it is welded and assembled, ready to be featured in your home.

Ironwood Stoves are proud of their environmental commitment. The Monnow and Thaw Wide are both Cleaner Choice certified, providing assurance that emissions are minimised, with particulate matter reductions going above and beyond current requirements. All Cleaner Choice appliances are independently certified to meet stringent emission performance limits, ensuring every Cleaner Choice stove is highly efficient and produces minimal pollutants.

In line with their appearance, Ironwood stoves offer simple operation, letting you easily heat your home and maintain an efficient, clean burn. The airwash system keeps the large glass doors clear, letting you enjoy your fire in full, unobstructed view. This simplicity lets you spend less time maintaining your fire, and more time enjoying the warmth it brings to your home.

Both the Ironwood Monnow and the Ironwood Thaw Wide come with the option to customise the door handle, allowing you to make your sleek, stylish stove suit your home’s interior perfectly. Available in traditional black, a striking gold, understated silver, or stand-out red, this simple feature adds to the aesthetic of the stoves and instils a distinctly Ironwood flair to your wood burner.

South Wales’ first manufactured wood-burning stoves is a title that Ironwood Stoves find great pride in. The Topstak team’s years of experience designing wood burners and a passion for Welsh quality is the foundation of Ironwood Stoves.

The namesake of Ironwood’s stoves displays the pride the team find in their heritage; the Ironwood Monnow is named after the River Monnow in Wales, and the Ironwood Thaw Wide is named after the River Thaw in the Vale Of Glamorgan. Both rivers follow the Ironwood’s design ethos, staying local and close to the heart of the business. The River Monnow is known for hosting the Monnow Bridge, the last fortified river bridge left in Great Britain, and runs directly past the Topstak Monmouth showroom. The River Thaw flows directly through the town of Cowbridge, flowing near the Topstak Cowbridge showroom and fueling their creative processes.

Cleaner Choice certified Ironwood Stoves guarantee minimised emissions without compromising on efficiency. Boasting a carefully thought-out design and production phase to reduce carbon emissions, high efficiency, and minimised particulate matter, Ironwood Stoves are a perfect fit for any home.
