UKCA Marking requirements for products supplied under system 3 under the Construction Products Regulation

UKCA mark requirements have now been amended and the recognition of CE marking in the UK has been extended to the 30th June 2025. This means that manufacturers will be able to continue to supply their products in England, Scotland and Wales using the CE mark until the 30th of June 2025. If the manufacturer is using the CE Mark, the conformity assessment must continue to be carried out by an EU recognised Notified Body.

The previous communications in June 2022 which permitted manufacturers to apply the UKCA mark by using an EU notified body report if the appliance was tested before the 31st of December 2022 will no longer be introduced and is superseded by the new extension above. However, until further notice, market surveillance authorities will not take enforcement action against any products found to be utilising a sole UKCA mark that is evidenced by a previous European CE technical evidence file if tested before 31st December 2022.

Please see below for a summary of the new requirements for UKCA marking:

After 30th June 2025, all products placed on the UK market will need to follow UKCA marking rules, which would ultimately mean that they would need to be tested by a UK notified body. E.g. A product tested by an EU notified body on 05/07/2024 would be able to sell into the UK by applying the CE mark until 30/06/2025 after which the product would need to meet the requirements of UKCA marking (i.e be tested by UK notified laboratory).
